Dear readers,
Since launching this newsletter, I’ve been powering through — writing deep-dive articles, building up social media channels, crafting web content, and laying the foundation for something much bigger. It’s been intense, and now it’s time to take a brief break to catch my breath.
I’ll be taking two-and-a-half weeks mostly offline. Not to rest passively — but to recharge with intention. I’ll be sorting through notes, speaking with voices from the animal rights community, and gathering the energy and ideas needed to take this project to the next level.
Misinformation is rising — fast. Industrial meat interests are copying Big Oil’s playbook: greenwashing, aggressive lobbying, and flooding social media with pro-meat propaganda. We need to push back. And I won’t just watch from the sidelines. I have a backpack full of ideas and the determination to build something meaningful. Now’s the time to sharpen the vision and build a powerful content pipeline.
Before I sign off, I want to say thank you. Truly. This community has grown to over 2,000 email subscribers 🥳 — something I never imagined when I started last year. You made this possible by reading, sharing, and supporting this work.
If you believe in this mission and want to help me keep producing high-quality, independent content, consider becoming a supporting subscriber.
Tucked into my bag: a copy of
’ How to Argue With a Meat Eater (and Win Every Time) — perfect offline reading to spark fresh inspiration. I’ll be sprinkling key insights from it into upcoming articles. Stay tuned. Some of my latest articles you might’ve missed:
Suggestions? Feedback? I’m all ears.
If you have any wishes or ideas for future content or the overall direction and feel of this project, I’d love to hear them. Leave a comment or drop me a message! I’ve been carrying this mostly solo so far, so while I can’t promise immediate implementation, I’m always grateful for constructive input and do my best to take it on board.
Catch you soon, refreshed and recharged.
With gratitude,
Pala
As a vegan and animal rights (and ecological) activist for over 30 years, I just want to say that you have been doing absolutely amazing work. Extremely well-worded, timely and hard-hitting content characterize your posts, and I think you should have much more than 2000 subscribers. I share your posts every time, but I'm not sure what the algorithm does with it. I'm glad you're taking whatever amount of time "off' to recharge you need - I think you should have a staff! I think a lot of the issue of not getting our word out is simply how to cross the in-crowd barrier on social media - I spend so much time responding to the same ridiculous pro-animal consumption arguments, and folks have just never heard the obvious replies. Anyway, I don't have the technological strategy to overcome this, but i do think you might want to reach out to some of the bigger groups and see if you can get some support (your content is generally superior i think) - maybe PETA, Humane Society (now Humane World for Animals), or my favorite - Center for Biological Diversity (which has a somewhat different focus, but is one of the few powerful eco-groups that explicitly call for a plant-based diet). Also check out this smaller group that has a great angle (climate emergency focused, but specifically oriented to ending the animal industry as the best solution) - climatehealers.org. Thanks again, more power to you, and I look forward to your next post!
I’m buying that book! Also you do amazing work- enjoy your break!!
