Calling All Vegans's avatar

“Companies are supplying animal products because people are buying them.” EXACTLY!

And the reason people are buying them is due to the multi-pronged mis- and dis-information propaganda machine of big business.

Put simply, and completely selfishly about this - going vegan will make you healthier!

BUT - going vegan will also let you “stick it to the man”.

Vegan’s have the power to weaken Big-Pharma, Big-Ag, Big-Health.

Big-Food will adapt to whatever dietary patterns we adapt, so we’re probably stuck with them. But this could actually be a surprising good outcome? Once Big-Food sees growing demand for vegan food they will make it, and in turn reduce the production of animal products.

Going vegan has so many up-sides it is easy to understand why vegans are attacked by the mainstream media (Big-Media) in cahoots with all the Bigs above.

I was told that if people didn’t eat certain animals those animal species would become extinct. I found an article debunking that theory and they weren’t impressed. Another time someone I know was raving about cute little lambs she’d seen in a field someplace and I said you’d eat them though if someone else killed them for you, and she said not all of them. Meat eaters live in some kind of weird dream world, at least, the ones I know seem to.

Eat rabbits instead

The problem with arguments like "eat rabbits instead" is that they often don't come from a place of genuine ethical consistency. Most people suggesting alternatives like rabbits don’t actually limit their diets to those animals—they still consume pigs, cows, chickens, fish, etc. So it's not really about reducing harm or making more ethical choices.

Secondly, rabbits are sentient beings too—they can feel pain, fear, and stress. Switching from one species to another doesn’t solve the core ethical issue: we’re still exploiting and killing beings who value their lives.

And perhaps most importantly, any form of animal agriculture—whether it’s cows or rabbits—contributes to the normalization of an industry that’s devastating for the climate, the environment, and public health. It’s also one of the most widespread and socially accepted forms of violence happening today. Real progress means challenging the system, not shifting the victims.
