The meat industry is certainly dishonest and corrupt. But I don't think that Peter is bribable - he just doesn't seem like that type of person. This is different. I suspect it had to do with social pressure - and maybe mental issues, such as depression? Whatever his motivation is, eating dead animals clearly won't help. I hope he will realize this sooner rather than later.
