It's so heartbreaking. I think most people do it because they just cannot imagine a different way. It's "how it's always been" and in their minds, nothing else is possible. Alternatively, they hide behind "humane meat" labels that are just marketing schemes and console themselves with the notion that they are doing their best.

Exactly... That’s how I used to think as well. But you and I are living examples that we can change; that we can live happy lives without supporting these atrocities. Every vegan person I meet gives me hope. And thanks to passionate activists like you, our movement will keep growing. Thank you, Sascha.

The killing of just hatched chicks is contempt for the miracle of life. I feel that consuming animals fills one with the violence suffered by those animals. Humans release that violence on each other and every other life form.

"There is something so dreadful, so satanic, in tormenting those who have never harmed us, who cannot defend themselves, who are utterly in our power” - John Henry Newman

Deep down, we all know it’s wrong to support the largest act of systemic violence in history. Even if meat eaters hide it from themselves, this contradiction breeds guilt and unease. Whether it’s the violence they consume or the unconscious frustration from knowing that they are on the wrong side of history, I have no doubt that many of them release the violence on others, including humans.

Becoming vegan has made me a more peaceful person - in general. Same goes for the vegans around me. Thanks for stopping by, Leslie!

It is horrible how most people turn a blind eye to this violence and some try to justify it . Like Tolstoy said as long as there are slaughterhouses there will always be war . The more seeds we can plant to wake people up and realize this is wrong .

Thank you.

If only the speed at which people converted were directly proportional to the simplicity of the argument...

Since most of them are speciesists, when we talk about war we only think about human war, but every day since the dawn of time, the human being has started a war against other sentient beings and every day on earth is another animal holocaust. Billions of animals die every day whether they are land or water animals. The only way to stop this animal genocide is to change the paradigm, and start thinking that we are not the masters of the world but only one of the many species that inhabit it and precisely because they consider themselves more intelligent they should help the other beings that inhabit the earth.
